We are seeking fully informed buyers who are serious and fully convinced that they will like their purchase from us 🙂 Offered here is vintage Hamilton 992 railroad grade watch in a 10K gold filled screw back case. The case made by Keystone Watch Case Company. For the people who do not know about the process, 2 plates of gold with a brass plate in between were put through a rolling mill together until the desired thickness was reached. This process assured for a much thicker gold surface on the case. Many of these watches have lasted for 100 years or more with hardly any sign of brassing. This watch case is nice and does not show brassing. The case back has 2 small dings, one can be pushed out. The double sunk Montgomery dial is free of hairlines or chips. The movement appears to be in good shape and running strong. You should however count on a service if you intend to use the watch. It keeps time for an hour or 2 and then although the watch is running the hands hardly move. This watch dates to 1927 based on Hamilton Co. records. The glass crystal is in good condition. Most pocket watches back then were sent to the jewelry stores as movements only and the buyer could pair the movement with the case that they liked. The case in this watch appears to be not the one the original buyer purchased it with.
