Description An absolutely glorious original 1950’s strapless party/prom dress in a stunning combination of the softest blush pink fine tulle with striking black floral appliques. The style typifies the 50’s – oh so feminine and figure flattering – narrow boned bodice perfect to accentuate a narrow waist – with a twirling full skirt. No maker’s label remains but this dress appears professionally made. It is also possible it was custom made by a seamstress. No fabric contents label but this is a synthetic, likely nylon blend. Note the special details on this wonderful dress – the (boned) taffeta bodice wrapped in blush pink tulle overlay, the wonderfully full tulle skirt and especially the decorative black floral applique accents. The flowers resemble Victorian jet, although they are likely composed of hard plastic. There are three layers to the skirt – a blush pink satin acetate lining, followed by two single layers of very fine mesh pink tulle. Note the dress is photographed using a crinoline to show the skirt to full advantage – the crinoline is not included. The dress closes down the side with a metal zipper and fastener. The entire dress is lined in shell pink satin acetate. No vintage size label, so please see measurements below for a proper fit. This is an extra small size which as is would only fit a modern size 0. The bust and ribcage area are extremely narrow. However, the bodice rear seams are unusually generous, potentially allowing an additional 2″+ if let out.
