RPPC Scenic View Lincoln Beach Island Meramec River Castlewood Park MO Postcard Rare scene of Lincoln Beach on the Meramec River below the bluffs of Castlewood Park, Ballwin, St. Louis County, MO. Apparently, beach goers would take the train to Castlewood to enjoy busy weekends at the beach. I don’t believe this island, sand bar even exists anymore. A rare and unusual postcard with tons of history. I believe this view looks southeast across the river. The other side of the beach should be what is today the Chubb trail and parts of the AB Wolf Sanctuary and Lone Elk Park. I am fairly familiar with this area and may be able to answer further questions if you have them.
