For a complete description and condition grading, please read the full description before purchasing! This is a solid original replacement casting for Stanley’s antique transitional planes. It will fit a No. 32, 33, 34, and No. 37. There is a small casting flaw, but is in an area that does not affect use. The style is appropriate for type 12 and earlier. It was manufactured prior to 1900 (No S or B casting but would still fit types 10 and 11). If you are not sure of the “type” (or year of manufacture) please see Roger K. Smith’s Transitional Plane type study at timetestedtools.net or in book form. Solid user replacement as-is or can be refinished.There is wear in the finish but no damage.Length is 13-5/8″ and it weighs 1 pound, 6 ounces Visit my store for more antique and vintage tools and tool parts. Although most of my items sell very quickly, metal parts may contain a small layer of oil, WD-40, grease, or similar substance to preserve the item and prevent rusting while it is in inventory. ALL inventory is stored in an environment where climate and humidity are controlled to ensure each item is received in the same condition in which it is presented in the listing. For these reasons, I will also try to list a description of these grades in each listing in order to clarify the grade given to each item. No signs of wear or rust – probably never used. No problems or issues. EXCELLENT: 95-99% of original finish remaining. Very slight wear with no rust. No problems or issues. GOOD PLUS: 85-95% of original finish remaining. Used but well maintained. Scuffs, light wear, very little rust. GOOD: 65-85% of original finish remaining. Moderate wear and/or rust. Minor deficiencies – owner’s initials, nicks, etc. GOOD MINUS: 50-65% of original finish remaining. Has seen hard use, but remains serviceable. Scratches, nicks, dents, cracks, chips, improper replacement parts. FAIR: 25-50% of original finish remaining. Heavy wear and rust. Some parts are broken, missing, or improper – serious flaws. POOR: 0-25% of original finish remaining. Pitted, abused, heavily worn. Serious damage and missing major parts.
