Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Viktor Grigorievich Yalansky was born in Yekaterinoslav (now Dnepropetrovsk). Graduated from the Dnepropetrovsk Art School (1940) and the Kiev Art Institute (1955). Studied with V. I. Kasyan, F. A. Samusev, A. S. Pashchenko, A. F. Sereda. Participant of the Great Patriotic War. Lived in Kyiv. Illustrated and designed books, was engaged in monumental and decorative painting, worked in the field of posters. He distinguished himself as an artist of monumental and decorative art, created thematic panels in the Dnepropetrovsk Hotel in Dnepropetrovsk (1968–1969), on the facade of the secondary school in Dnepropetrovsk (1969), and others. V. G. Yalansky participated in republican (since 1954), foreign (since 1958) and all-Union (since 1959) art exhibitions. He repeatedly took part in poster competitions. He was awarded diplomas and medals. Collaborated with a Kyiv publishing house; author of socio-political posters: “Come with us to the virgin lands!” (1954), “1654–1954” (1954), “Our peaceful policy is approved by the majority of the world’s population. V. Lenin” (1958), “Here are the additional reserves” (1959), “Our peaceful policy is approved by the vast majority of the world’s population” (1960), “We will not forget” (1964), “Decree on peace” (1965), “All nations will come to socialism inevitably… V. Lenin” (1968), “Workers of the world, unite!” (1973), “Labor achievements – to the party congress!” (1980), “In a single line to new victories!” (1983), “On guard of order together” (1986), “Leninism is an invincible banner in the struggle for the victory of communism” (jointly with Yu. P. Mokhor, O. K. Terentyev), “For peace and friendship between peoples”, “I vote for the candidates of the bloc of communists and non-party members!”, “Long live Leninism – the victorious teaching of the communist party”.
