Comedian Eddie Murphy joined the cast of Saturday Night Live in 1980. His time on SNL is legendary, as he brought to life many hilarious characters. During his four years on the show, he began to make movies, the first being ’48 Hours’ in ’82, ‘Trading Places’ in ’83, and ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ FORTY years ago, in ’84. Once he left SNL for good in ’84, he continued making movies until the 2020s, as the sequel (or continuation) of the ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ movies titled ‘Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F’, which came out in July of this year. In today’s great deal, we take a look back at vintage and classic Eddie Murphy movies with a sweet bundle! First up is a combo of both ‘Trading Places’ (always one of my favorite Murphy movies) and ‘Coming to America’ (another really good one). Two films, one case! Bought new, and watched a couple of times. Both discs are still shiny and clean. Case looks great. In 2021, a sequel to ‘Coming to America’ was released, by way of Amazon Studios. It was during the peak of covid, so Paramount sold it to Amazon, and it was never shown in theaters. It brings back many of the cast members of the original, like Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall, James Earl Jones, Shari Headley, Louie Anderson, John Amos, and Vanessa Bell Calloway. Many others have roles and cameo appearances. It’s actually really funny and very entertaining! Disc comes in a thin cardboard ‘for your consideration’ sleeve. The disc itself looks great, but with a few very light surface marks on it. Sleeve looks good. Next up is a box set of the first THREE ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ movies! You’ll get the first, the sequel, and number 3, in a nice box that holds them all together. Each one has special features added. And they are all in separate cases. I, II, and III will make you laugh hard as Eddie Murphy, Judge Reinhold, Paul Reiser, John Ashton, and Hector Elizondo (among many others) experience insane capers and wacky adventures! The discs of parts 1 & 2 have a few very light surface marks on them. Nothing bad or that will affect play. Part 3’s disc is shiny and clean. Each case looks new. Outer box has light wear on it, but still looking great. Overall, a great three movie collection in fantastic condition! Next up is the 1989 film that Eddie Murphy wrote and directed, called ‘Harlem Nights’. It stars many funny and talented actors such as Richard Pryor, Redd Foxx, Della Reese, Arsenio Hall, Jasmine Guy, and Danny Aiello, among a few others. An awesome movie set in the 1930s, with authentic looking clothes and nightclubs. The disc itself has a few very light surface marks on it. Nothing bad or that will affect play. Case looks new. And we’ll end with a great movie starring both Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence, as well as Bernie Mac, R. Lee Ermey, Ned Beatty, as several others. Titled ‘Life’, and originally released in 1999. Both a comedy as well as a drama, it features some incredible acting as it tells the cautionary tale of being sentenced to life in prison. The disc looks new, and is still shiny and clean. Case also looks new. Bring home this big ‘ole bundle of classic Eddie Murphy movies. Eddie is ready to come over and make you laugh.
