Lot of 13 Original Photographic Printsca. 1900s-1930s – Lancaster, PA Area by Various Lancaster Studios Mostly Gelatin Silver / A Couple Are Apparently Albumen These prints are from an estate collection — purchased through a local auction house in Pennsylvania — that featured lovely early-century Pennsylvania images.The mounted photos are on their original rigid boards, and bear the marks of Fred Ernst Studio, Lancaster, PA (6); George Killian Studio, Lancaster, PA (1); Stoner Studio, Lititz, PA (1); Amos Studio, PA (1); a couple unmarked by the studios; and the last two with white borders (unmounted) are marked Russell’s Photo Service, New Holland, PA.DIMENSIONS: They range from: 2″ x 2.75″ oval on 3.5″ x 5.25″ board (the albumen photo of the old lady), up to 5″ x 7″ on 8″ x 10″ board (the two largest group photos). [ CONDITION DETAILS… ]As pictured, all in lovely antique condition with a scuff or ding here and there from age and handling. One of the large group photos does have a good deal of chipping of the emulsion. (See final picture.) The above is my good-faith attempt to disclose all noteworthy issues. Keep in mind that vintage/antique items always show their age. (Don’t we all!?) It would be impossible to mention every tiny detail, so please expect that there will be something about this item (or lot) that’s not perfect and may need touch-up.
