**** Steampunked Body **** This is a handmade Bolt Action Rifle Ballpoint Pen made by Placid Crafts. This pen features a steampunk body poured in acrylic. The Hardware on this pen is Antique Pewter with a copper coated bullet grip. The Bolt Action works the ink to retract or advance the ink for writing. The pen is 5-3/8″ long. I would consider this a standard diameter pen. / Pen #SP19 The standard Fisher “SPR Series” Refills were developed for NASA and have been used on EVERY Space Shuttle mission both American and Russian. They are hermetically sealed with a specially formulated thixotropic ink and pressurized to about 35 PSI. They are the only refills that will write at any angle because they do not rely on gravity. About our Steampunk Series Pens:The body of a steampunk pen is built on a brass tube. The tube is wrapped with a metal sheet, either bright silver or copper. Then the patches are cut into various sizes and shapes and marked to look like rivets all the way around the patch before being applied to the pen body. At this point the body can be left bright or a black stain can be applied and then wiped off so that it stays in the markings on the body. Then the body is placed in a mold and an epoxy style acrylic like substance is poured over the body and put in a pressure pot at 50 psi until the acrylic hardens. Then it is cut to the proper length and diameter then shaped to fit the hardware. From there it is sanded polished and buffed to a nice finish. These pens are available in our eBay store in a variety of styles and finishes.
