LIVING ESTATE SALE (Details at the end of description) For your consideration is Wilesco D8 Live Steam Engine made in Germany in the 1970s. The D8 is an excellent choice for a first live steam engine.It is a simple engine that is easy to operate and maintain while demonstrating how a steam engine works.Much better than the smaller D6 that cannot handle any load, this engine can operate a small accessory. This engine has been air tested (video) and should not give much trouble to operate on steam.There are several brand new and original Wilesco parts : – Pressure gauge, – Burner tray, – Smoke stack. In the con section, the main thing to report is quite a few dents on the top of the boiler (photos).The base has been repainted but not the engine part.If you can live with the dents on the boiler, I believe that this can make a pretty good first steam engine.The new parts alone probably add up pretty close to the list price 🙂 The closest comparable model that is still produced by Wilesco is the D10 :https://www.wilesco-shop.de/en/stationary-steam-engines/d10-steam-engine.htmlA new D10 is currently €236.50 (US$250) and a new D6 is €137.50 (US$147) You will need some solid fuel pellets (anywhere camping supplies are sold) and using solely distilled water is strongly recommended. At first sight, it is no better than average then, at closer look, there are many brand new and original Wilesco parts (Please read description). It has been air tested (video) and should not give much trouble to operate on steam. It is complete, including the original box that is in average condition. The main thing to report is quite a few small dents on the boiler (photos). The base has been repainted but not the rest. All in all, I believe it is about a C5/C6.
