1964 – 1965 Oldsmobile Cutlass F-85 & 442Original Aluminum Fender & Trunk Emblem This sale is for an original Aluminum fender or trunk emblem for the 1964 – 1965 Oldsmobile Cutlass, F-85, Cutlass Supreme & 442 cars. It may also be suitable for other years or models. These emblems were installed on the 1964 and 1965 models and were unique in that the original version of these emblems were all aluminum, not pot metal or cast. These original emblems are really scarce and hard to find. If originality is important you will want to consider accurate aluminum emblems rather than after market reproductions. The condition of the part is original and not restored. It is in average condition with no significant sign of damage or deterioration. The mounting studs on the back of the emblem are broken off about half way down the stem and will require some creativity when installing it on the car (perhaps “dum-dum” type of adhesive). They can be installed as is and will compliment an original survivor car or can be repainted and polished for a show quality car. Our parts were pulled from our huge inventory of Cutlass parts cars. Here’s a bit of my story: At a used car lot in a small middle Tennessee town the ‘car bug’ bit and I have been infected with this disease for over fifty years. The father of one of my high school friends was a co-owner in the dealership, which allowed me the opportunity to grow up around these classic cars. One of my first drives was an SS Impala, which has a way of hooking you for life! When you were in the graduating class of 1967 you were born to love the muscle cars of that era. Over the last four decades I have bought, sold, restored and collected cars from every vintage. There was a Cadillac LaSalle, some Ford Mustangs, a sweet 1953 MG-TD, several Corvettes, a few pickups, and even a 1926 Studebaker! This diversified experience has included owning approximately 150 cars in the last forty-three years! Within the last twenty years it has been my pleasure to concentrate more on collectible parts as I have personally witnessed how hard it is to find good quality, original parts for a vintage car. My travels have taken me to swap meets at Carlisle, Hershey, Charlotte, Indianapolis, Chicago, Moultrie, Louisville, etc. where I have built a relationship with other car hobby enthusiasts as a fair and reputable buyer and seller.
