I must clear some space on my shelves, so I need to part with some of my collection. THIS IS MY LAST ONE! Kinetic Model Kits has been very active in producing high quality 1/48 scale aircraft with an emphasis on interesting subjects. The Hawker Siddeley Harrier was developed by the British in the 1960s as the first truly capable Vertical / Short Take Off and Landing (V/STOL) fixed wing aircraft. This proven capability was a natural fit for the US Marine Corps, so in the 1970s, the AV-8A Harrier came across the pond to serve in USMC colors. The USMC flew AV-8As and AV-8Cs (made by Hawker Siddeley) until the late 1980s when the redesigned AV-8B Harrier II (made by McDonnell Douglas) replaced them. I found over a dozen listings for this kit on eBay (mostly from China or Europe), but as a Top Rated Plus US Seller, I have this in stock and can reliably ship this item to you very quickly. He explains the impressive features and options for this kit, like multiple wing and nose and tailfin options. Kinetic’s Harriers are well detailed, offer many useful options and alternative position parts, and provide a wealth of ordnance. Engineering appears straightforward and it should not be a difficult build.” Michael Benolkin published an informative First Look Review on the cybermodeler.com site, giving us a thorough background on the Harrier. We get a half dozen high-resolution photos of the sprues, decals and PE fret. He lists the extensive features and marking options for this kit and delivers a knockout opinion in his Conclusion, saying: “Kinetic has really come a long way since their first kits and even their Sea Harriers, and this kit could easily be the best Harrier kit in any scale.” Julien posted a detailed In-Box Review on the britmodeller.com forum site that goes into a lot of detail about the finely molded parts and construction sequence. He was most excited about the extensive load of weapons and external stores provided, listing them and saying: “No Harrier (or modern fast jet, for that matter) is complete without some additional tanks to extend its range, and/or some kind of war load, and Kinetic have been their usual generous selves as far as this kit is concerned.” RC UK Scale Models created a nice 17-minute Unboxing Video on YouTube that shows the parts and instructions in extreme detail. The first third covers the instructions, and the rest gives you a fine view of the parts. You should have no questions about the kit contents after watching this video. This kit is in a beautiful box about 15” x 10” x 3”. As you can see from the pictures, the package is pristine and still sealed with four tape strips, so I consider it factory sealed and absolutely gift-ready. This item contains one complete injection molded plastic model kit with over 350 detailed grey and 18 clear plastic parts, 36 photo etched metal parts and a beautiful sheet of awesome Cartograf decals (designed by CROSSDELTA!).
